Groundbreaking ceremony planned for Providence Road expansion
(COLUMBIA, MO) - The city of Columbia invites the public to
attend a groundbreaking ceremony for the expansion of Providence Road
Friday, Feb. 20, at 2 p.m. off Rangeline/763, west on Big Bear
Boulevard to the end of the street.
This project will consist of new street pavement from Vandiver
Drive to Blue Ridge Road, construction of a new multi-span bridge over
Bear Creek and new sidewalks. The total cost for this project is $4.2
million. The project is expected to be completed in the fall 2009.
Expanding Providence Road will significantly help with vehicular and
pedestrian traffic to offer better connectivity to and from the north
part of Columbia.
