Historic Preservation Night will be held Feb. 3
(COLUMBIA, MO) - The Historic Preservation Commission's 2009
Most Notable Properties event will be held at the Tiger Hotel, 23 S.
Eighth St., on Tuesday, Feb. 3, beginning at 7 p.m. with light
refreshments. Planning Department staff will set up displays from each
of the past 10 years the “Most Notable” gala has taken place.
Historic Preservation Commission Chair Brian Treece will introduce this
year's award winners at (or about) 7:30 p.m. followed by a brief
presentation. Award winners have been encouraged to bring memorabilia
(pictures, newspaper articles, etc.) to display at the event and will
have an opportunity to speak following the presentation.
Since 1999, the annual 10 Most Notable Properties event has been
an opportunity for the public to view some of Columbia's fine historic
and architecturally significant properties and meet the Columbia
Historic Preservation Commission. The public is welcome to attend this
free event.
