Weather conditions change location plans for Hinkson Clean Sweep event
								
	(COLUMBIA, MO) - The sixth annual Hinkson Clean Sweep is still
scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 17, from 10 a.m. to noon. However, only two
locations along Flat Branch Creek, a major tributary to Hinkson, will be
cleaned at this time. Due to the heavy rainfall we have received over
the last week, the stream conditions are unsafe at Hinkson Creek and
Bear Creek. Therefore, we will not clean those locations this fall.
	Everyone is to report to the Flat Branch Creek locations at
either Flat Branch at 4th and Cherry, or Flat Branch at Martin Luther
King trail head on Stadium (entry is at the south side of Stadium,
between Providence and West Boulevard). 
           Volunteers who participate in the cleanup efforts will be
treated to a free picnic lunch after the event hosted by Firestone
Complete Auto Care on the SW I-70 Business Loop, beginning at noon.
	The sixth annual Hinkson Clean Sweep is cosponsored by the city
of Columbia, Boone County Public Works, Sierra Club, Missouri Stream
Team, University of Missouri, Hinkson Creek Watershed Restoration
Project, Shakespeare’s Pizza, Firestone Complete Auto Care, Coley’s
American Bistro and Makes Scents.
