‘Keys to the City’ will be held October 27
Meeting will include City Council office hours and discussion of
‘Infill’ development
(COLUMBIA, MO) - The public is invited to a special event called
“Keys to the City” on Tuesday evening, Oct. 27, from 5-8:30 p.m. at
the Stephens Lake Park Riechmann Pavilion, 2300 E. Walnut. The purpose
of the event is to provide the public with additional information on
city government and additional access to both elected officials and city
staff. This event will also include a neighborhood congress to engage
residents on planning issues important to neighborhood organizations.
The schedule for the event includes:
Council Office Hours and Information Fair, 5-7 p.m.
● “Office hours” where residents can visit with City Council
members on issues of importance to them (All seven members of City
Council are planning to participate; a detailed schedule is available on
the city’s Web site.)
● Information fair featuring staff and resource from several city
programs
Neighborhood Congress, “Growing Up, Not Out,” 7-8:30 p.m.
● A neighborhood congress will be led by the city’s Planning
Department titled “Growing Up, Not Out: A Dialogue on ‘Infill’
Development.” A discussion will be held on "Infill" development to
learn how neighborhoods may become more involved and informed on the
progress of these often promising but sensitive development locations.
The congress will also include a review of the city’s new Office of
Neighborhood Services.
“Keys to the City” supports the Imagine Columbia’s Future
visioning project and Columbia’s effort to be a connected, informed
and engaged community.
The event is free and open to the public. To learn more, visit
www.GoColumbiaMo.com or contact the Office of Volunteer Services at
