Open house/interested-parties meeting for Providence Road traffic
safety and capacity study
(COLUMBIA, MO) – The Public Works Department announces an informal open
house concerning future improvements for Providence Road, from Turner
Avenue to Stadium Boulevard. The meeting will be held Tuesday, April 20,
from 4:30 to 6 p.m. at City Hall, 701 E. Broadway, room 1A.
The purpose is to gather public input concerning the possible
alternatives for improving safety and capacity on Providence Road,
between Turner Avenue and Stadium Boulevard. The goals include:
1. improving pedestrian crossing opportunities across Providence
Road;
2. improving traffic capacity on Providence Road;
3. improving access to adjacent neighborhood areas; and
4. reducing delays and traffic congestion.
Information, maps and diagrams for this project will be available for
public review at the meeting. City staff will be present to answer
questions and receive comments. If you have any questions about the
meeting, please contact the Public Works Department at (573) 874-7250.
