Public hearing for Texas Avenue sidewalk
 
(COLUMBIA, MO) – The Public Works Department announces a public hearing
for the construction of a sidewalk on Texas Avenue, from Garth to
Providence Road, on the north side of the street. The public hearing
will be held Monday, April 19, during the regularly scheduled City
Council meeting, which begins at 7 p.m. in the Council Chambers, 701 E.
Broadway. 
 
This project would fill the last remaining sidewalk gap on the north
side of Texas Avenue from Providence Road to Creasy Springs and nearby
Cosmo Park. Cost estimate for this project is $130,000, funded by
Capital Improvement Sales Tax. If approved, construction is planned for
2011. Questions about the public hearing should be directed to the
