Public hearing for North Grindstone Sewer Extension Phase 3 
       
(COLUMBIA, MO) – The Public Works Department announces a public hearing
for construction of the North Grindstone Sewer Extension Phase 3. The
public hearing will be held Monday, April 19, during the regularly
scheduled City Council meeting, which begins at 7 p.m. in the Council
Chambers, 701 E. Broadway. 

The North Grindstone Outfall Phase 3 Project will extend sanitary sewer
service along the north fork of Grindstone to the east side of Route Z.
This project was identified as a need in the 2004 Sewer Utility Master
Plan. The project is needed to provide city sewer service for an
undeveloped portion of the upper North Grindstone watershed north of
I-70. This portion of the North Grindstone watershed is anticipated to
be an industrial/commercial corridor. 

The proposed project includes constructing approximately 7700 linear
feet of sanitary sewer along North Grindstone Creek. The estimated
construction cost is $1.3 million, which will be funded through revenue
bonds approved by voters in 2008.
