City schedules move to new addition
COLUMBIA, MO (February 5, 2010) - City of Columbia staff members
started moving today from the Daniel Boone Building to the new City Hall
addition at Eighth and Broadway streets and will continue through next
week. According to Assistant City Manager Tony St. Romaine, citizens
should be aware that services from affected departments may be limited
on the days they are moving.
“Telephones will either be answered directly or monitored for voice
mail messages,” St. Romaine said, “but we will do everything
possible to remain accessible and responsive. Keep in mind that we will
be moving people, furniture, telephones and computers. It’s best to
call ahead.”
St. Romaine said that departments should be fully open for business in
the City Hall addition shortly after their respective moves. The public
may enter the new addition from a paved, accessible path on Broadway,
marked by orange mesh fencing.
There is no interior public access between the Daniel Boone Building
and the new addition.
Offices remaining open in the Daniel Boone Building include Treasury
Management, Utility Customer Services, Cashier, City Print and Mail
Services and the Mezzanine Level Conference Room. The utility payment
drive-through bay remains open.
