BooneCountyIndicators Coalition Web Site Has Updates

COLUMBIA- The Boone County Indicators Coalition, comprised of representatives from various public and private organizations, annually identifies and updates key data indicators which help to assess the health and human service needs of Boone County. The Coalition would like to announce that on Thursday, February 25, 2010, it will release its updated information gathered and available through 2009 on the Boone Indicators Web site www.booneindicators.org ( http://www.booneindicators.org/ ). The web site provides up-to-date data in an easy-to-access manner and offers links to other online data and research.

The indicators are useful for the health and human service community as well as the business community, the media, and the public. Health and human service administrators, planners, and researchers have found the information useful in several areas including strategic planning, grant writing, and fundraising. Supportive organizations which provide funding for health and human services have utilized the Boone Indicators data in making funding decisions and in their strategic planning.

The data provides businesses with information on unemployment rates, median income, health issues that cause employee absenteeism, our aging workforce, and median home costs. The site has also served as a valuable resource to the media, who are key to increasing public awareness of health and human service conditions in our community.

WHAT Press Conference
This conference will provide an overview of the indicators that the Coalition has identified and updated followed by a question and answer session.
