Boil order for Thornbrook and Millcreek Manor

	(Columbia, MO) -- Between 8 p.m. and 9 p.m. yesterday, Columbia
Water and Light’s 16-inch water main serving Thornbrook and Millcreek
Manor subdivisions broke. Due to the pressure in the water main
dropping, the utility has issued a precautionary boil order.
Customers in the Thornbrook and Millcreek Manor subdivisions are
urged to take the following precautions:
●	Boil water for three minutes prior to using it for cooking or
drinking.
●	Do not use ice from an automatic ice maker. Remake ice with
water that has been boiled.
●	Disinfect dishes and food contact surfaces by immersing for one
minute in clean tap water that contains one teaspoon of unscented bleach
per gallon of water.
Water service was restored to the area Thursday evening when a
connection with a neighboring water district was made. The boil order
will continue until two clean water samples are obtained. It takes 24
hours for each of the samples to be analyzed. The boil order could be in
effect until Monday, Jan. 11. When the water tests verify that the water
is safe for drinking, the residents will be alerted that the boil order
has ended.
