One lane of Highway 63 traffic restricted Friday and Monday

(COLUMBIA, MO) – Starting Friday, June 4, weather permitting, the
Columbia Terminal Railroad (COLT) will make repairs to the highway-rail
crossing at Highway 63. The crossing is located in north Columbia
between Paris Road and Brown Station Road.
The repairs are expected to take approximately six hours for both the
northbound and southbound lanes. The work will be done during the middle
part of the day in order to avoid the morning and evening rush periods.
Traffic on northbound Highway 63 will be restricted to one lane on
Friday and one southbound lane on Monday, June 7. The existing COLT
highway-rail crossing at Highway 63 will be replaced by a bridge that
will be completed by Oct. 15.
The COLT is a short line railroad owned by the city of Columbia and
operated by Columbia Water & Light. It provides railroad freight service
to Columbia and mid-Missouri.
