Mayor Hindman receives Lifetime Achievement Award

(COLUMBIA, MO) – Mayor Darwin Hindman received the League of American
Bicyclists Lifetime Achievement Award March 9 in Washington, D.C., at
the opening reception of the 10th annual National Bike Summit. The award
was presented to Mayor Hindman by Andy Clarke, executive director of the
League of American Bicyclists, in appreciation of the mayor's dedicated
service to the League.
Clarke cited Mayor Hindman's leadership in making Columbia a “Bike
Friendly” city, his repeated participation in panel discussions at
previous Bike Summits, his frequent talks with mayoral peers around the
country on the importance of active transportation and his unwavering
support for the League as reasons for the award.
