Water & Light project restricts traffic on East Broadway

(COLUMBIA, MO) – Columbia Water and Light is installing an electric
line underground, across Broadway, just east of William Street. Workers
will be boring under the road to install conduit for the new line which
is close to an existing water line. Due to the age of the water main,
the depth of the pipe is not known, so workers need to expose the line
to avoid problems. Water crews will be working in one eastbound lane,
furthest from the curb, which will restrict traffic to one lane. The
work will begin Thursday morning, May 13, and will take approximately
four hours. If the weather prohibits the work being completed on
Thursday, then the job will be done on Friday, May 14. Motorists are
urged to find an alternate route or use caution when traveling through
the work zone. Water service is not expected to be disrupted.
