Police, Joint Communications, Howard and Gentry service restored –
phone and Internet outage continues at other locations
COLUMBIA, MO (May 21, 2010) - City crews continue to work on a fiber
communications network that was damaged this morning during construction
in the historic Daniel Boone Building. Various city locations
experienced outages in phone, Internet and e-mail services.
Internet and e-mail communications are fully operational at:
• Police
• Joint Communications, Office of Emergency Management
• Gentry Building (Parks & Recreation Administration, Office of
Cultural Affairs)
• Howard Building (Human Resources, Prosecutor’s Office, Municipal
Court)
Phones at these locations remained operational throughout the day, and
Joint Communications’ 9-1-1 calls were not affected by the outage.
Work to restore Internet and e-mail service continues at:
• Armory
• Fire Administration
• Wabash Station - during the outage, Columbia Transit customers can
call (573) 817-6465 for service.
Barring unforeseen circumstances, crews expect to restore all services
