ColumbiaPools Set to Open for the Summer
COLUMBIA, MO – The City’s aquatic facilities are about to open for the
summer! The first official day of the pool season will be June 5,
although the Albert-OaklandFamilyAquaticCenterwill open for Memorial Day
weekend, May 29-31.
Pool fees for the summer are $2.50 for youth between 2 and 15 years of
age, $3.75 for adults 16 and older, and free for infants. However,
patrons at Douglass Pool will only pay $1 admission.
Coupon books for 2010 are available at a cost of $37.50 for youth and
$56.25 for adults. The books cover 20 visits. Outdoor aquatic season
passes are available for purchase at the ARC. Costs are $220 for a
family season pass, $115 for an adult season pass and $70 for a youth
season pass.
Following are pool schedules and amenities for the 2010 summer. Pool
hours are subject to change:
Albert-Oakland Family Aquatic Center, 1900 Blue Ridge Road—Will be open
from 12to 6 p.m.May 29-31. Starting June 5, the facility will resume
normal summer hours through August 20: 12 to 7 p.m.Mondays through
Fridays, 12 to 6 p.m.on weekends.
Lake of the Woods, 6700 St. Charles Road--The outdoor pool at Lake of
the Woods will open June 5 through August 8 (closed July 4) with hours
of 12-5:30 p.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays; and
1:30-7 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
Douglass Family Aquatic Center, 400 N. Providence—The pool will be open
June 5 through August 15. Hours Monday through Saturday are 1-7 pm. and
on Sundays, 1-6 p.m.A new spraygrounds is scheduled to open this summer
at the park as well.
Little Mates Cove at Pirates’ Landing, 2500 Chapel Hill Road—Located at
Twin Lakes Recreation Area. Little Mates will be open June 5 through
August 15 with the following hours: 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.on Mondays,
Wednesdays, and Fridays, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and
Saturdays and from 12to 6 p.m.on Sundays.
