City of Columbia’s 4th of July Fire in the Sky

Coordinated by ColumbiaParks& Recreation 
 
(Columbia, MO) Put on your red, white and blue and celebrate our
nation’s birthday and Declaration of Independence at Columbia’s 58th
annual 4th of July celebration! Memorial Stadium will be the location
for music, fun and fireworks on July 4 beginning at 6:30 pm. 
 
Entertainment will begin at 7 p.m.Fireworks will begin after 9:30
p.m.The evening will feature performances by the Kansas City Street
Band, the Hilary Scott Band, ColumbiaCanineSportsCenterperforming dogs
and patriotic music performed by the Hickman High School Choir. 
 
Many fun activities are planned for kids on the concourse including a
bounce house, bungee run, face painting, balloon art and 4th of July
crafts.  After dark there will be a spectacular fireworks display
choreographed to music. 
 
“This is the first year that the City of Columbia Parks & Recreation
Department has coordinated the event,” said Parks and Recreation
Director Mike Hood. “We sincerely appreciate the support from our
presenting sponsors, Columbia Insurance Group and KOMU 8 and sponsors
Cosmopolitan Luncheon Club, KBXR 102.3, KFRU 1400 & Mizzou Athletics
that made the event possible. The Columbia Convention & Visitors Bureau
and the Youth Community Coalition are also assisting with the event.
It’s a great community collaboration.”
 
The celebration is free and concessions are available. Attendees will
not be allowed to bring fireworks to the stadium. For more information,
