Parks and Recreation Opens Photo Contest

COLUMBIA, MO (April 1, 2011) - The Columbia Parks and Recreation Department invites photographers 18 and older to participate in a photo contest! The contest is divided into categories representing Parks and Recreation facilities, events, sports, programs and classes.

Criteria for judging the high-resolution photos will include those that best represent the Parks and Recreation slogan - "Creating Community through People, Parks and Programs." There will be $1,200 in prizes awarded. All photos submitted have the possibility of being used in Parks and Recreation publications and promotions with photographer acknowledgment when feasible.

The contest deadline is July 1, 2011. Contest rules and information can be found on the Parks and Recreation web site @ www.GoColumbiaMo.com or by contacting the Parks and Recreation Department at 573-874-7460.
