Broadway sidewalk construction begins today

COLUMBIA, MO (April 4, 2011) - The city of Columbia Public Works Department announces that on April 4 Steve and Associates Inc. of Fulton, Mo., will begin construction of a new 6-foot-wide sidewalk along the north side of Broadway from Fairview to just west of Stadium Boulevard. 

The project is funded by the Non-Motorized Transportation Pilot Program at a cost of $251,704. This work will result in temporary lane restrictions just west of Stadium on the northern, east-west lane of Broadway. Motorists and pedestrians are urged to exercise extreme caution when in the construction area. The work should be completed by July, weather permitting.
