City conducting trash collection survey
COLUMBIA, MO (August 1, 2011) - The Public Works Solid Waste Division is conducting an online survey to gather information for future trash collection. The Public Works Department is looking at options for trash disposal and wants to know what residents think about using roll carts instead of the trash bags currently provided by the city.
"We are continually looking for improvements that best serve the citizens of Columbia in the most efficient manner," said Richard Wieman, solid waste manager. "We want to know what the community thinks before we move forward with this project."
Residents are encouraged to go online by Sept. 2 to complete a quick, easy survey. The survey can be found at: www.SurveyMonkey.com/s/ColumbiaTrash. Public computers are available at the Daniel Boone Regional Library for those who don't have access to a home computer, or residents may stop by City Hall at the reception desk on the first floor to fill out a paper survey.
