Parks and Recreation Photo Contest Winners Chosen

COLUMBIA, MO (August 11, 2011) - Winners have been chosen of the second Columbia Parks and Recreation Photo Contest. Those winners will be announced and prizes awarded at the next Parks and Recreation Commission meeting at 7 p.m. on August 18 at the ARC (1701 W. Ash). Most of the contest winners are expected to be in attendance.

This is the second straight year that Parks and Recreation has hosted the photo contest. All photographers 18 years and older were invited to share their best original photos taken at any Columbia Parks and Recreation facility, event, sport, program, or class. There were five categories of the contest with first place in each category receiving prizes. A grand prize winner was also selected. The grand prize photo will be displayed at the Parks and Recreation administrative office.
