City offices closed for New Year’s holiday

COLUMBIA, MO (December 27, 2011) - City offices will be closed Monday, Jan. 2, in observance of New Year's. The regular City Council meeting will be held Tuesday, Jan. 3.

Residential refuse and recycling collection will not be made Monday and will be delayed one day the rest of the week. Questions concerning holiday refuse collection should be directed to the Solid Waste Division at 874-6291.

Columbia Transit will run Jan. 2 on the OFF PEAK schedule for the entire day. Buses will operate on an 80-minute cycle similar to the Saturday service. The 105 South Commuter route will not operate.  

The sanitary landfill will be closed and parking meter regulations will not be enforced Jan. 2. Though administrative offices for both the police and fire departments will be closed Jan. 2, all other emergency services will be available.
