Sanitary sewer root control

COLUMBIA, MO (May 20, 2011) - The city of Columbia Public Works Department will begin sanitary sewer root control Tuesday, May 24. The contractor, Duke's Root Control Inc., will apply a foam tree root control product in the Parkade subdivision. The work is expected to continue throughout the rest of May and June. Work will be done between 7 a.m. and 6 p.m., Monday through Friday. The project is expected to be completed prior to the first of July, weather permitting.  

The product being used is registered by the Environmental Protection Agency for use in sewers to control the growth of tree roots. Above-ground vegetation, such as trees, shrubs, plants, flowers, grass, etc. will not be affected.
