Lakeview Drive closure rescheduled due to weather

COLUMBIA, MO (November 10, 2011) - The city of Columbia Public Works Department announces that beginning Monday, Nov. 14, at 7 a.m., AM Grun-D Construction LLC of Tipton, Mo., will temporarily close Lakeview Drive at Range Line to construct new roadway pavement and connect new sidewalk. The work should be completed and the road fully reopened at 7 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 17. This work was originally scheduled to begin last week, but was delayed due to rainy weather.

Motorists and pedestrians are urged to exercise extreme caution when in the construction area and use an alternate route whenever possible. Contractors are putting in new sidewalk on Range Line from Business Loop 70 to Big Bear Boulevard. The project is part of the $22 million non-motorized pilot program being funded by the Federal Highway Administration.
