Elliott named Columbia Regional Airport interim manager

COLUMBIA, MO (October 13, 2011) - Public Works Director John Glascock said today that Don Elliott has accepted an interim appointment as Columbia Regional Airport manager, effective immediately. Elliott, airport superintendent, replaces Andrew Schneider, who has been released as manager. Schneider became airport manager in November 2010 after the retirement of longtime city employee Kathy Frerking.

Elliott has been with the City of Columbia and Columbia Regional Airport for 29 years. As interim manager, Elliott will oversee the daily operations of the airport including airport safety, facility maintenance and compliance inspection. Glascock said that he has not yet started planning for a permanent replacement.           

"Columbia Regional Airport carries high expectations to not only assure reliable transportation service but to continually adjust operations consistent with regional and global events. Don knows the day-to-day operations of the airport, and I'm confident that he will do a good job," Glascock said.
