Portion of Hitt Street closed until Friday evening
COLUMBIA, MO (April 9, 2012) - Hitt Street between Cherry Street and Broadway will be closed this week to continue upgrades on the electric distribution system. Traffic will be detoured around the block using Cherry and Tenth streets. The eastern sidewalk and access to the buildings on this section of Hitt Street will remain open. The road should be opened again on Friday, April 13, in the late afternoon.
Columbia Water & Light is upgrading a circuit to better serve the electric load in the area. The job requires that new electric lines and conduit be placed under Hitt Street from Broadway to the alley. Customers will be individually notified if there are any electric service interruptions during this project.
