Pictures That Speak: A Photographic Display on Living with HIV/AIDS in Mid-Missouri
COLUMBIA, MO (April 13, 2012) - Photos from the Pictures that Speak project will be displayed in the lobby of the Columbia/Boone County Department of Public Health and Human Services (1005 West Worley in Columbia) from 4 -6 PM on Tuesday, April 17.
The display features photography taken by men living with HIV/AIDS in Mid‑Missouri who participated in a project to explore and share their life experiences, challenges, and strengths through images. Eight different men met in groups to discuss their work and plan this exhibit, which serves to display their photography and educate the community about HIV/AIDS and the experiences of people living with HIV/AIDS.
Pictures that Speak is a collaboration between the Columbia/Boone County Department of Public Health and Human Services and the University of Missouri.
