Fire Crews Respond to Work Site for Trapped Worker

COLUMBIA, MO (December 13, 2012) - The Columbia Fire Department was dispatched to a high angle rescue at the intersection of Hitt Street and Locust Street on December 13 at 2:33pm.  While en route Public Service Joint Communications advised 911 callers initially reported a worker was trapped in a trench and shortly after advised the worker was out of the trench.

Fire and EMS crews arrived 4 minutes later and were directed to a worker with injuries to his wrists.  Boone Hospital Ambulance personnel evaluated the male subject and transported him to University Hospital for further evaluation.

One fire truck from the Columbia Fire Department responded to this call.
