Public invited to discuss Enhanced Enterprise Zones

COLUMBIA, MO (February 28, 2012) - Citizens will have an opportunity to ask questions about a recently authorized economic development tool at a public session scheduled for Tuesday, March 6, in the City Council Chamber, from 5-7 p.m.

According to Mike Brooks, president of REDI Inc., Carole Shoemaker, the Missouri Department of Economic Development's Enhanced Enterprise Zone (EEZ) program coordinator, will be the featured speaker. "Mayor McDavid will open the session and, after Carole describes the EEZ program, she'll respond to questions from those attending," Brooks said.

Because of wide interest in the issue, the session also will be taped and broadcast live over the City Channel, available to those who subscribe to video services through Mediacom, Charter Communications and CenturyLink.

"This session is open to anyone who wants to learn more about how an EEZ designation works," Brooks said. "We're eager to hear more citizen voices."
