Memorial and Candlelight Walk Planned for King Holiday

COLUMBIA, MO (January 6, 2012) - The Parks and Recreation Department is planning the Annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Candlelight Walk and Memorial Celebration. It will be held on Monday, January 16.

The candle light walk will begin at 6:30 p.m. at Douglass High School. Walkers will proceed to the Memorial Celebration at St. Paul AMC, 501 Park. The memorial will begin at approximately 7 p.m. During the service, members of the community will be recognized with the annual Dr. King awards.
