Brookside Apartments - Investigation Update

COLUMBIA, MO (July 11, 2012) - After dozens of interviews, hundreds of man hours and consultation with Columbia Police Detectives, the State Fire Marshal's office and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms (BATF) the cause of the May 27,2012 commercial structure fire at 1221 East Walnut, Brookside Apartments, remains undetermined.   Investigators have determined the area of origin to be the southeast corner of the structure.

This is an on-going investigation. We ask again that anyone with information, photos or video which they have not shared with investigators, to please do so.   The Columbia Fire Department, Fire Marshal's Division may be contacted at 573-874-7556. The public may also call Crime Stoppers at 573-875-TIPS to relay information pertaining to this fire.
