Alley closure

COLUMBIA, MO (June 14, 2012) - The City of Columbia announces that beginning Monday, June 18, Cook Concrete will have the alley between Broadway and Walnut streets closed. The closure will be enforced in segments beginning on the east end at Short Street. Short Street to Tenth Street is expected to be closed for one week. The second segment, 10th Street to Ninth Street, is expected to last three days. The last segment will be from Ninth Street to the north-south alley, just west of Ninth Street. 

The closure is needed for Mediacom to install conduits for a new fiber optic line. Closure hours will be 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. The closure is expected to last until June 29, weather permitting. Pedestrians and motorists are urged to avoid the area and use an alternate route.
