City of Columbia Ban On Outdoor Burning

COLUMBIA, MO (June 26, 2012) - The Columbia Fire Department will not be issuing burn permits, including pit burns, until further notice.  The lack of rainfall, dry vegetation and low humidity have created a great potential for fast moving brush fires.

The Boone County Fire Protection District also discourages open burning and the shooting of fireworks for the same reasons.
