Town hall meetings on street improvements to be held

COLUMBIA, MO (March 9, 2012) - The Public Works Department is holding two more town hall meetings next week to discuss street improvements in Columbia. Ward 3 residents will meet Tuesday, March 13, at Blue Ridge Elementary in the media center. Ward 2 residents will meet Thursday, March 15, at Parkade Elementary School in the media center. Both meetings start at 5:30 p.m. Council representatives will be in attendance and the public is encouraged to attend.

These meetings are designed to gather input from citizens to maximize street improvements throughout the city and plan for future street improvement budgets. Citizens are encouraged to attend and provide input. Other meetings to follow include:

*Ward 4: Wednesday, March 21, 5:30 to 7 p.m., Activity & Recreation Center (ARC), 1701 W. Ash St.

*Ward 1: Monday, March 26, 5:30 to 7 p.m., Armory Sports Center conference room, 701 E. Ash St.

*Ward 6: Wednesday, March 28, 5:30 to 7 p.m., Unitarian Universalist Church Sanctuary, 2615 Shepard Blvd.
