Parks and Recreation Planning May Family Fun Fest

COLUMBIA, MO (May 8, 2012) - Celebrate Bike, Walk and Wheel Week and learn about fitness at the next Family Fun Fest! Parks and Recreation will hold the "Fitness is Fun" Family Fun Fest from 6 to 8 p.m. on May 16 at Flat Branch Park. This month's theme:

 

May 16: Fitness is Fun, sponsored by the ARC

The event will be full of fun demonstrations and hand-on activities. Features include Flipz USA, Hometown Cloggers, Lil Lady Bulldogs, Boone County Hoppers Double Dutch and Jump Rope Team, and the Deva Dancers.

 

Other activities at Family Fun Fest will include hopscotch, hula hoops, jump roping, four square and more. Also, kids will have the chance to check out a fire truck from the City of Columbia.

 

The Fun Fests feature a new theme each month and offer free entertainment for the entire family such as music, special performances, art activities, bounce-houses, hands-on activities, face painting and fun for all ages.

 

The Family Fun Fests are sponsored by the Convention & Visitors Bureau, KPLA 101.5, KOMU TV8, EntPro Entertainment and Columbia Home Magazine.
