2nd UPDATE - Scott Blvd bridge to close on August 14 AND August 15 for bridge repairs

COLUMBIA, MO (August 13, 2013) - Due to the scope of work and to avoid a second one day closure next week while school is in session, the number of days required to complete this project has been extended from one day to two.

The City of Columbia Public Works Department reminds motorist that beginning Wednesday, August 14, at 7:00 a.m.  Boone County Public Works crews will begin making repairs to the bridge deck over Mill Creek on Scott Blvd. between Copperstone Creek Drive and Stone Grove Court.  Columbia Public Works Crews will then apply an overlay to the bridge deck.

The work is scheduled to be completed and the road fully reopened on August 15, by 7:00 p.m., weather peremitting.

Electronic message boards are in place and detour signs are being set up.

Motorists and pedestrians are urged to exercise extreme caution when in the construction area and use an alternate route whenever possible.

We understand the extended closure of this roadway will be a hardship on our customers. We do appreciate your patience while we work with our partners at Boone County Public Works to complete this project as quickly as possible with as few delays as possible.
