Extrication Accident on Ash Street

COLUMBIA, MO (August 13, 2013) - The Columbia Fire Department was dispatched to an extrication accident on Tuesday August 13, 2013 at 6:12pm at the intersection of Ash Street and Ridgeway Avenue.

Crews arrived on the scene four minutes later and observed a pick up truck and passenger vehicle with heavy damage.  The pick up truck impacted the driver side door of the passenger vehicle.

There were two adults, one toddler and one infant in the passenger vehicle.  All four sustained significant injuries and were transported to the hospital.  The driver had to be extricated.  Witnesses stated the driver of the truck fled on foot.

Five units from the Columbia Fire Department responded to this incident.  The extrication took approximately twenty minutes.
