Short Street Parking Garage to open Tuesday, December 3 at 6:00 am

COLUMBIA, MO (December 2, 2013) - The City of Columbia announces the substantial completion and opening of the Short Street Garage, 1100 East Walnut, on Tuesday, December 3 at 6:00 am.

The construction of the garage, with an estimated cost of $9,625,000, began June 20, 2012.

The garage was designed with a total of 420 parking spaces:

 

·         26 uncovered hourly spaces

·         9 accessible spaces

·         51 covered reserved spaces

·         47 uncovered permit spaces

·         287 covered permit spaces

All reserved and permit spaces are currently sold out with a waiting list of 98 for covered and 87 for uncovered permit spaces.

Parking rates for the Short Street garage were set recently by council and are equal to the other city parking garages.

A formal dedication of the garage and art project will be scheduled for early spring of 2014.
