Public Input Meeting Set for Grindstone Creek Trail Project
COLUMBIA, MO (July 10, 2013) - Columbia Parks and Recreation is hosting a drop-in public meeting on July 17 for the Grindstone Creek Trail development project. Interested parties are invited to stop by between 5-7 p.m. at the ARC, 1701 W. Ash.
Parks and Recreation staff and engineers from Allstate Consultants will be available to discuss recommended bridge locations and hydrological studies conducted by Allstate. Staff can also address any technical questions related to the Grindstone Trail project including other topics such as tree removal and alternatives to connecting area neighborhoods to the trail. Staff will also be available to discuss the remaining GetAbout projects.
Several public input meetings regarding the proposed Grindstone Trail have been held. The meeting on the 17th is planned to address additional survey work conducted by Allstate and further studies to determine type and location of bridges. This work was done as a result of a meeting in May with area residents, city staff and Councilpersons Barbara Hoppe and Karl Skala.
For more information, contact the Parks and Recreation Department at 874-7460.
