Advancing renewable energy conference tomorrow

COLUMBIA, MO (March 27, 2013) - Speakers from across the country will discuss how harnessing renewable energy and reducing consumption is preparing the Midwest for the future. The Advancing Renewables in the Midwest conference will be held at the University of Missouri’s Christopher S. Bond Life Sciences Center on Thursday, March 28 from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm. Highlights of the conference include:

*The electric utility of the future providing clean, reliable and low cost power

*Renewable energy applications in the military, schools and churches

*Electric transportation

*Community solar programs

*New developments in energy efficiency

*Informational booths

 

The cost of the conference is $75 for the general public and $125 for energy professionals. Registration can be accomplished online today at AdvancingRenewables.org, by calling (573) 882-9554, emailing muconf3 at missouri.edu or at the conference. A list of speakers and topics can also be found on the Website.

 

The eighth annual Advancing Renewables in the Midwest conference is hosted by Columbia Water & Light, the University of Missouri’s Department of Soil, Environmental and Atmospheric Sciences and the Missouri Department of Natural Resources. Sponsers include Ameren Missouri, Microgrid Solar and Iberdrola Renewables. 

 

Reporters covering the event for a story need to check in at the registration desk the day of the conference.
