Sign up event: free energy efficiency upgrades for income qualified customers
COLUMBIA, MO (May 21, 2013) -
Columbia Water & Light electric customers can make their homes more energy efficient through the Central Missouri Community Action. The service is FREE for income qualified customers. It helps families in need save money on their energy bills so it can be used on other pressing family needs.
Special sign-up event
Qualifying electric customers of Columbia Water & Light and Boone Electric Cooperative should bring the information listed at the bottom of this page & a staff member will assist them with the paperwork.
Wednesday, May 22 from 9 am to 4 pm

Qualifications
Income has to be lower than the amounts listed in the table below
Columbia Water & Light or Boone Electric Cooperative electric customer
Own the home or permission from the landlord* to participate
*Landlords: Partial funding is available for rental units with income qualified tenants. This program will pay for 50% of the upgrade for single family homes and 30% for each multi-family unit.

What is covered?
As funding allows, you might qualify for these FREE* upgrades:
Energy efficiency assessment (determines which upgrades are needed)
Insulation (attic, wall, rim joist, ductwork and either crawlspace or floor over unconditioned spaces)
Sealing air leaks
Additional funding from other funding sources might be available for other energy efficiency improvements.
Application Process
Fill out the weatherization assistance form available from Central Missouri Community Action (http://showmeaction.org/images/stories/eDocs/webPDFs/wxapp_2011.pdf)
Proof of ALL household income for previous three months.
A copy of current utility bills (including natural gas) with the account numbers visible.
Proof of home ownership.
Renters will need to provide the landlord’s name, address and phone number.
To apply: come to the event at the Columbia Boone County Health Department on May 22 or contact the Central Missouri Community Action, 573-777-5270 or wx at showmeaction.org. Ask about the Enhanced Home Performance with Energy Star program.
