Third Annual Fishing Derby Planned at Philips Park

COLUMBIA, MO (May 28, 2013) - Columbia Parks and Recreation is planning the Third Annual Fishing Derby at A. Perry Philips Park this Saturday, June 1. Registration for the free fishing derby will be held from 9 to 9:30 a.m.; the derby itself will be held from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m.

 

The fishing derby is co-sponsored by the Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) and is free for all ages. Categories will be divided by age with prizes awarded for first fish caught, largest, and smallest fish.

 

Participants between the ages of 16 and 64 must present a valid Missouri fishing license. For more information, call Parks and Recreation at 874-7460.
