COLUMBIA, MO (September 20, 2013) - The 36th Annual Heritage Festival and Crafts Show will be held from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. this weekend, September 21-22 at historic Nifong Park. Organized by Columbia Parks and Recreation, this free festival features traditional and roots entertainment and artisans and tradesmen dressed in 19th century attire demonstrating their "lost" trades and selling their wares.
Other Festival features this year include more than 100 craft booths, Lewis and Clark Outpost, cowboy chuck wagons, prospector camp where kids can “pan for gold”, hayrides and a “Fun For Young’uns” area. Attendees also will enjoy live entertainment including multi-national traditional music, traditional storytellers and returning favorites, the Haskell Indian Nations Dancers.
A full Heritage Festival stage schedule is attached.
The Heritage Festival is coordinated by Columbia Parks and Recreation and sponsored by Columbia Convention & Visitors Bureau Tourism Development Program, KPLA 101.5, KFRU 1400 & Columbia Daily Tribune.
