Fatality Traffic Crash in the 4700 Block of Richland Road

COLUMBIA, MO (April 13, 2014) -                                          Fatality Traffic Crash 
 
 
TYPE OF INCIDENT: Fatality Traffic Crash 
Report # 2014-004066 
DATE & TIME OCCURRED: 04/13/14 @ 0441 hrs 
DATE & TIME REPORTED: SAME 
ACCIDENT LOCATION: 4700 Blk Richland Rd. 
 
DRIVER #1: Mctye, Dennis W Age: 39 
 Columbia, Mo Injured: Fatal 
 Seat Belt: Yes 
 
 
 
DETAILS OF INCIDENT: 
 
Crash occurred when vehicle #1, a 1993 Mercedes 500 SEL, was traveling west on Richland 
Rd. in the 4700 Block. Driver #1 lost control and ran off the right (north) side of the 
roadway and struck a utility pole. Vehicle #1 overturned and came to a rest a short 
distance off the roadway. 
 
Excessive speed is believed to be a factor in this crash. It is unknown, pending toxicology 
results, if alcohol or drug impairment was involved.
