Historic Trades Workshops still have room for participants in Overview Session

COLUMBIA, MO (August 27, 2014) - The City of Columbia's Historic Preservation Commission is sponsoring an intensive, 3-day, hands-on "boot camp" for novice homeowners and skilled tradespeople on tools and tips for maintaining and restoring older properties. The workshops will take place September 4-6 2014.

The Commission has announced that the three primary workshops are now full (Passive Wood Floor Restoration, Paint It Right and Window Restoration and Weatherization), but citizens are invited to register to attend the free 90-minute overview and top tips session (with time for Q&A with consultant Bob Yapp), on Thursday, September 4, 2014 from 9:00AM to 10:30 AM in room 1A/B of City Hall (701 E. Broadway). Registration for this session is required and will close at 5:00 PM on Tuesday, September 2.

The workshops will be led by renown trades preservationist Bob Yapp (http://www.bobyapp.com/).
