Fire Damages residence in south Columbia

COLUMBIA, MO (December 16, 2014) - At 10:48 pm, Monday December 15, 2014, the Columbia Fire Department responded to a reported residential structure fire at 3406 Rock Quarry Road, Highland Estates Trailer Court. Several 9-1-1 callers reported smoke and fire coming from a residence.

Columbia Firefighters arrived at 10:53 p.m. to find smoke and flames visible from the residence. Firefighters entered the structure and using two hose-lines, crews had then fire under control in less than fifteen minutes. 

One occupant was home at the time of the fire and broke a window to exit the structure.  She was injured during her egress and was transported to a local hospital to evaluate her injuries.  The type or severity of her injuries is not known at this time.

The cause and origin of the fire is still under investigation and there is no damage amount at this time.

Due to hydrant locations, two Boone County tankers were requested to assist with water supply.

Three engines, a ladder, and a rescue squad from the Columbia Fire Department and two tankers from Boone county fire responded to the incident.
