Columbia Regional Airport ran regular flights despite heavy snowfall, ready for regular service tomorrow

COLUMBIA, MO (February 4, 2014) -  

Many Columbia residents wanted to escape the monstrous snowfall that hit Columbia Tuesday morning, and Columbia Regional Airport flights were running smoothly to help them on their way.

Columbia Regional Airport reported that all flights came and went smoothly today, despite the heavy snowfall that hit mid-Missouri. Only a couple of flights experienced minor delays due to deicing, but runways remained clear and operational, which was a big relief for customers trying to travel.

Some customers headed to Columbia Regional Airport after flights in Kansas City were cancelled, and they had no problem getting in the air and on their way to hopefully warmer weather. Maintenance crews will remain on-site and are having no problem keeping up with clearing the snowfall. Tomorrow morning's flight to Dallas already has the aircraft on the ground and being prepped for the AM flight, and crews will make sure it's business as usual at COU tomorrow as well.
