Snow Operations react to light snow overnight and prepare for more on it's way

COLUMBIA, MO (February 8, 2014) - Columbia Public Works crews started treating roadways with salt yesterday in preparation for a light snow overnight. Crews worked overnight and into Saturday monitoring road conditions and treating slick spots that the light snow created on Columbia streets. As of 10am Saturday, priority routes were deemed in good condition and crews predict warmer daytime temperatures and road traffic will also help in clearing the roads.

The team continues to monitor road conditions and prepare equipment for more incoming snow predicted tonight and into Sunday. Little accumulation from the snowfall is expected, with heavier bands falling north of Columbia.
