Bike Bright, Use a Light!

COLUMBIA, MO (February 13, 2014) - Cupid is aiming for bicyclists today and tomorrow in Columbia!  Coupons are being placed on parked bicycles throughout downtown Columbia and the University of Missouri, Stephens and Columbia College campuses. These coupons are redeemable for a free bike taillight, courtesy of GetAbout Columbia and the Parks and Recreation Department.  

Bicyclists can redeem the coupons at the Parks and Recreation administrative office, #1 South 7th Street.

GetAbout Columbia would like to remind cyclists that front white lights and rear red taillights are required by law from the period from one-half hour after sunset to one-half hour before sunrise. 

Call GetAbout Columbia at 874-7460 for information on laws pertaining to safe, responsible cycling.  Funding for GetAbout Columbia is provided by the Federal Highway Administration’s Non-Motorized Transportation Program.
