Residential Refuse and Recycling Collection will be delayed one day the week of January 6

COLUMBIA, MO (January 3, 2014) - Residential curbside refuse and recycling collection will NOT occur on Monday, January 6 and collections will be delayed by one day for the remainder of the week.

Bitterly cold windchills of -20 to -30 degree's are forecast for Monday morning through mid-day making working conditions very dangerous for people who work outdoors. For the safety of our collection staff, we will not collect refuse or recycling on Monday, and plan to resume service on Tuesday, Janaury 7. This will cause a one day delay in curbside collections. Monday routes will be collected on Tuesday, Tuesday routes on Wednesday, and so-forth.

Commercial refuse and recycling collection will occur as usual on Monday as those collection staff members are primarily inside of vehicles.

We appreciate your patience and understanding while we protect the safety of our collection staff.
