Rangeline Crash Sends One to Hospital

COLUMBIA, MO (January 3, 2014) - At 3:47 p.m. on Friday, January 03, 2014 the Columbia Fire Department responded to the 1400 block of Rangeline Road for a reported car crash. Columbia Firefighters arrived and found a two vehicle accident involving a large box truck and a red Pontiac Grand Am.

The driver of the box truck and the passenger in the Grand Am declined medical attention. Because of the damage to the door, the driver of the Grand Am was trapped in the car. Firefighters moved the box truck and used a hydraulic rescue tool to remove the driver’s door to gain access to the patient. The driver, an adult female, was removed from the vehicle and transported to University Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Two fire engines and a rescue squad responded to the incident. The northbound lane of Rangeline, between Lakeview and I-70, was shut down for approximately thirty minutes.
